Haridwar &
Rishikesh

Two towns on the Ganga, roughly 25 km apart β€” one built around the river's holiest ghat, the other around ashrams, yoga schools and the rapids upstream. One taxi, one driver, no train transfers in between.

What You'll See

One river, two moods.

Haridwar

Where the Ganga Meets the Plains

The point where the river leaves the Himalayas and becomes the plains' Ganga β€” built almost entirely around Har Ki Pauri and its evening aarti.

  • Har Ki Pauri Aarti
  • Mansa Devi (ropeway)
  • Chandi Devi
  • Chotiwala Bazaar
Rishikesh

The Yoga Capital

Ashrams, suspension bridges and rapids just upstream β€” the town where the Ganga is still cold and blue-green, not yet the plains' river.

  • Laxman Jhula
  • Ram Jhula
  • Triveni Ghat Aarti
  • White-water Rafting
  • Beatles Ashram

Day by Day

The road, mapped out.

Traveller's Notes

Before you book.

3–5 days covers it well. 3 is enough for the aartis and one Rishikesh activity; 5 leaves room for an ashram stay or a Devprayag day trip.

No β€” rafting operators in Rishikesh charge separately and vary by season and rapid grade. We can point you to a reliable operator on the day.

Yes β€” it's a starting plan. Add an ashram stay, extend toward Devprayag, or drop a day, and we'll re-quote the per-day rate.

Both Har Ki Pauri and Triveni Ghat hold their aarti around sunset, timing shifts slightly with the season β€” we plan the day around it.
